Default Headlight aim high

Anyone know how to adjust the headlights aim on a pre-facelift c30?

I had to remove the headlights recently to remove wax that had collected between the gap around the light cluster and when I plugged it back in, I heard a little whirring noise and now the aim of the drivers side light is slightly higher than the nearside one.

Whirring noise is normal, its the sound of headlight leveller.
1st thing to do - turn the levelling dial (in cabin) max to low and let both lights go down, then turn it max up and let both go up. Sometimes those motors calibrate itself better and you may go back to original level. Check if both lights go up&down.
if not - you need to do a manual adjustment using plastic hex "heads" - careful as those easily snap. Would be better if you take the headlight out and turn the actual BLACK part of adjuster than trying to adjust the heads. Once you have a look at adjusters you will understand what I mean.

If C30 lights are similar to S/V, the vertical adjuster is the one on top, horizontal is the one close to edge of headlamp (high beam). Counterclock on the WHITE hex = raising beam so opposite if you are turning black part.
