Smile Remapping

Morning guys. I have a 2011 V70 D5 202bhp. Do any of you have any thing to share regarding a remap for this engine? A little more MPG is ideally what i'm after. Just wanted some real life figures as appose to what the tuning companies all claim to give you. Thanks a lot

It does put a lot of extra strain on the clutch. The later Euro 4 cars have a larger clutch plate and are less known for clutch problems but when I had my C70 D5 remapped at about 57K I started seeing clutch slip within about 3000 miles. I paid for a new clutch with a smile though, the performance improvement is very pronounced. I went from 180bhp -> 225bhp (claimed) and it feels it too. I think the Euro 3 cars go from 163bhp to 200bhp ish.

My V70 was remapped by Shemtek Automotive Solutions near Newark.
It was an ECU out job and was taken from 163hp to 240hp and 440nm of torque.
The car is a little better on fuel if driven carefully. But, goes like stink when I ask it to. I certainly recommend Shemtek 👍🏻👍🏻

I have the original Heico official Volvo approved tune from 2010 in my 2009 Volvo XC90 D5

All the documentation, graphs, brochures, and official data says wider torque curve, more power earlier on, but negligible fuel economy impact when driven normally.

One advantage is that it is fully compliant with local legislation and passes inspection at the 2 yearly technical vehicle inspection without issue.
