Thermostat housing removal D5252T
Coolant starting to leak around the underside of thermostat housing on 1999 v70 2.5d with D5252T engine. Have managed to feel the two hoses and neither have signs of dampness, so suspect the sealing ring may have degraded. Access seems very poor and a socket will not fit onto the left (upper) bolt. Even when and if I remove the top hose, it will still be very awkward. Can anyone out there who has done this job before offer any tips or advice to make it even slightly easier or point me towards some web page for help?
Thanks. |

If memory serves me correctly it's one of those jobs you need to do on the blind. You should be able to access it with a short (10mm ?) socket on a 1/4" extension. Apply a little silicone grease to the new o-ring to ease re-assembly.
