Pretty impressive stats and hope you are pleased with them.

OK, a long journey (non-normal driving) with lots of cruising at constant speed but never the less a good result.

Would like to see 65 mpg on the return leg!

Enjoy your vacation.

Excellent numbers, well done. Looks like a good improvement over your previous one (from memory, circa 50mpg?) so seems to deliver the uplift you were looking for. Mine gave me between 54 and 65mpg today on various legs of a journey from Glasgow to Newcastle and Leeds, was quite impressed with that given the hills. Following the stats on the trip computer it seems to be around 60-70mpg on the level, 30-40 on hills and even the smallest downhill leaps to 70-80. Around town it's much lower but overall mix for the day about 55, albeit that there was a lot of peak time jams to endure.

Edit: just found the excellent VOC app function that let's you group all the legs of a journey (each leg represents a single journey from starting engine to stopping) and mpg for the day was 60.2 over 305 miles split over 5 legs.

Thanks all.
Internet connection in the Sud Tyrol (Cortina, Dobbiaco & Toblach area's) are very poor.

My big delays over the trip so far, are major roadworks in Germany, the traffic on the Fern Pass and the latter Brenner/Sud Tyrol sections.
Driving in the UK, is a joy, do not complain.

Here for the next 6 days, short local runs and I will not reset anything until I get home.
Update to follow.

As a footnote (not going to start a new post), all my Nav selected destinations, deleted themselves, in Germany.
Not sure if it was a conflict, between "Send to Car" / manual selection's, or?
Now having to put everything back in manually.

tem.

What astonished me today was the drop in mpg in heavy rain. On routes and at speeds where I normally stay easily over 50mpg, it was down to under 40, with hills being even worse. I know lights and wipers drain power and wipers also add drag, but I was staggered at the difference.

Was there strong winds too? That can often have a huge impact too.

I'm guessing you didn't explore the top end through Germany with those numbers?
It'll be interesting to see the final numbers when you go uphill back to Scotland ;-)

Didn't feel like it in the car but I did notice the trees waving about a lot. Still, over 50mpg average with wind and heavy rain - not too shabby

In heavy rain that makes the road awash, the extra drag on the tyres having to cut through the water and 'pump' it away can make a significant difference to mpg.

Last year I was on one of the level sections of the M40 and it was lashing down faster than the water could drain away. Even at 60mph (forced by the spray), I was only getting 40 - 45mpg on the instantaneous mpg display. A few miles up the road, the rain had passed and the road was just damp. Mpg on the instantaneous display went up to the usual 55+. The DPF was not regenerating at the time, the difference was purely the wet roads.
