Ah! Papa Westray and North Ronaldsay are the only 2 islands in the Orkney's that don't have docking for Roll on Roll off ferries so you have to be winched on and off the island!......and everything else, trucks, JCBs, containers etc.

I was heading out of Henfield last night at about 5.30 in my XC90 and spotted a dark blue 240 heading into the village on the A281. I thought it was a saloon, but could be wrong. Looked smart. Why do I never see a 240 when I'm in mine?

Saw a red K-reg 240 Torlanda estate driving in Brighton going the other way. The driver had his hand up to wave before I did. That's the third time in the past few months I've seen another 240 - usually driven by a youngish person - and waving at other 240's is obviously part of driving one for these guys.

Is it now de rigueur to wave? 240's are such a rare sight now that it is a bit of a moment every time you see one, so I don't mind waving.

Seems so. I waved at the above 244 and flashed my lights twice but didn't seem to get a response. Possibly didn't see me? It made my day though as I have only seen 2 in 3 years!

I've seen one around Halesowen fairly recently - possibly a GLT as it had Virgos. Could be the same one?

Also, saw a nice silver 240 Torslander estate in the NEC car park on Saturday!

My silver SE estate was spotted in Tilbury today by a lady who lives near Palmers College, Grays, Essex. The lady might be named Carol. The bonnet of my Volvo was up because I am working slowly through little things and routine work.

Her father has if I remember correctly a dark green estate with rectangular headlights and leather upholstery, in London. Carol does or has driven her father's 240 and she loves these cars. Her father might be named Joe.

I do forget ...

Not sure if it was a GLT but had the optional fog/driving lamps under the bumper and I'm sure it was blue and looked very tidy from the quick drive past.
Nice to know of another in Halesowen.
My silver 240 GLT estate is easy to recognise as it has the full length roof rack on it!

Greetings to the smart silver 240 Tors I passed in my silver GLT saloon on the anti-clockwise M25 in Surrey this morning. Good to finally meet another 240 on the road. They are getting rarer these days it seems.

Kind regards
Lucien
