Default v70 205bhp oil change

Guys,

I'm soon collecting a 2010 V70 with the 205 twin turbo engine.

Is the oil change procedure any different from the older 185 euro 4 engine ?

Thanks

John

If you want to risk the oil level causing problems as it rises due to failed regent.

Volvo changed tothe 5.7l many years ago.

Paul.

On a similar vein, I’m soon collecting a 2009 E5 v70 (205bhp).
Does the autobox in these take the same 3309 fluid as the earlier cars?

Want to get the stuff ordered up for a full service ASAP.

I'd check your handbook to be sure.

You can download from here: - https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/manuals/v70/2009

I compiled a list of geartronicgearbox/ATF combinations taken from the V70/XC70 handbooks and there were changes during the D5 evolution.

Thanks, I’ll wait until I get the car as it’s a late 2009 it could be a 2010 model where the Oil spec changed. Cheers

On my 2011 XC70 with "gen2" TF-80SC tranny I put 31256774 oil in it. This is same as AW-1. Works without any problem, before the change I had kicks on downshifting and sometimes during the parking gears as well.

Next time I will use Ravenol ATF-WS Lifetime instead of the OEM volvo which is extremely expensive when you have to use 12L during the flushing.

Thanks, not got a handbook with the car, so will see if Vida tells me what to use.

The box is really smooth, so think I’ll just do a few sump dumps to refresh the oil. Just need the right type.

Ring your nearest Volvo dealer & speak to the parts department. They'll be able to tell you the correct fluid to use.
