Default STC & ABS Warning light issues??

2002 V70 D5. I've done a little testing since last post about "anti-skid light" & come up with this. After accelerating from braking hard into a downhill left hand bend the STC light comes on and cuts power. If you turn off the STC and do the same manoeuvre the ABS light illuminates. When you turn off the ignition & restart the car the ABS light goes off. Is it obvious to those of you in the know what this indicates the problem is or is the best course of action getting the codes read which for me will mean a trip down to the not so local stealer!!!

Betcha your abs rings have cracks or missing teeth. Easy to check.

Thanks for that, found an old post on here that explains how to replace em, so I'll check the rings when I get a spare moment & if they're knackered I'll order some & give it a go. I'll post again when I've sorted it.

Default Job done, all fixed Cheers Orca2

Finally got round to doing the job today, I had managed to loose the locking wheel nut which is why it's taken me so long to get round to it. Managed to get a new 1 from McGard in Germany with just a picture of the nut & a picture of the V5 18 Euro's delivered (not bad I thought). Anyway did the job with the help of an old guide on here. All good, neither dash light shows up & problem fixed. Thanks for your help orca2 you saved me loads of time/money & stress:-)

Glad it was a cheap easy fix . My first one cracked at extreme speed one night, I got the fright of my life, all the warning lights came on at once. i thought aargh I've busted something expensive here, imagine the relief when I found it was a £ 2 quid part.
The second one lasted about six months longer so I was glad I had ordered two.

Default ABS Rings - link to guide?

Hi folks,
I realise this is a pretty old post, but I have a seemingly similar problem with my '02 V70 and having checked the sensors and found no visible issues, I thought I'd check here for ideas. I didn't know about the ABS rings and would like to check them but can't find the guide referred to. As I say, I know this is a really old thread, but am hoping for a link to the guide that can help me check and possibly replace my ABS rings?
Many thanks for any assistance, and no worries if unable to help.
Cheers,
Frank

Checking is easy with the wheel off you can see them at the rear of the hub, rotate hub to see all round.
However it may not be possible to see if one is cracked or split because of the build up of rust and crud.

This may help...
