v90 2017 ECO gauge not showing + driver display problems
Hi all,
Ive recently bought my V90 2017 and noticed that the ECO gauge was not showing while in ECO mode. According to dealer the 2017 model does not have that option but I think there are wrong because that ECO gauge is standard for any car with ECO mode? Can anyone with a 2017 V90 (or S90) check please if this is true or not? Besides my issue with the missing ECO gauge I've got few other issues that according to dealer is because of the model/year and is not an issue. The car is bought as Volvo Selekt so if indeed defect and not a feature I want to make sure it all gets fixed as part of the warranty. Im going back to dealer this afternoon to discuss this further. Thus far my experience with them (Sentinel London) has been perfect and hopefully it will all be sorted. Your thoughts on these issues would be highly appreciated. The function button for ECO mode is missing But according to Volvo manual (V90 2017): "A car without drive mode control has a function button for 'Driving mode ECO' in the centre display's function view."? https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...drive-mode-eco When ECO mode selected the 'ECO gauge' does not show in driver display. But the Volvo manual (V90 2017) mentions that it should show, as in any other recent Volvo model? https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...drive-mode-eco https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...driver-display Indicator Drive mode missing from driver display Whatever drive mode selected the indicator of the selected mode does not show in driver display. But the Volvo manual (V90 2017) mentions this should show? https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...driver-display Thanks! |

If your V90 has a drive mode switch on the centre console near the gearchange then operating it properly (press, roll and press again to select mode) should certainly generate a mode indication in the driver display and, in eco, that slightly strange green dial that doesn't measure anything with units known to me but tells you what a driver called "reference" would be doing (via a short white arrow) and that you should try to copy him. He likes green. Bit weird really.

Thanks Tony,
Thats good to know for the 2017's with that drive mode switch near gearchange. My 2017 is one without such a switch and from manual I see that for those without that switch there should be a function button for Driving mode ECO in the centre display's function view. And apparently that function button should look like the attached pic But for me that button is missing as I'm missing the slightly strange green dial (ECO gauge). cheers, David |

Hi David
I'm assuming you've found the function screen by swiping left after start up and the Home screen. If so, cannot understand why the Eco "button" would not be there (according to my manual anyway). Its top left.

Also, depending on what driver display you have (8" or 12"), the ECO will be different..... |

It seems odd that there is no Eco gauge when in Eco mode.
Icons can be relocated, they don't have a fixed position. They can also be located below the screen.

Thanks! Tony, Kenp8257, Gaby
About function screen you mentioned, there is for my car in the function screen not an ECO-button/icon present. Ive attached a pic of how my function screen looks like. So, Im definitely not crazy to expect that this ECO-button/icon should be present in the function screen? I was yesterday at the dealer to discuss this all again and the technicianskept saying that it was not included for my year/model V90. When I showed them the manual printout and also the in-car manual that says it is indeed standard functionality one of them took a photo of my manual and said he would look into it again (will post some extra info about my visit and progress asap) |

I assume that you can't scroll further down the function screen to reveal more icons?

Hi Tony,
I moved all available icons up so scrolling is not needed. Those icons are all there are and definitely no ECO icon. thanks |

You will find his thread under "Spec checks for UK vehicles" in the General Volvo section. He will need your reg. number , maybe more, but I am pretty sure he will give you a definitive list as to what is fitted to your car. Just might be worth contacting him with your specific question.
