Default Sachs top mount failure in under 1000 miles.

If you'd bought Sachs top mounts less than 1k and 4 months ago, and they had both already failed, would you suspect potentially faulty parts, or would you accept that as a reasonable lifespan of the parts, as I've contacted the seller and he seems to think it's fine.

Not acceptable to me as a recognised decent quality brand, are you sure they were genuine Sachs?

They were all correctly packaged it what appeared to be proper branded packaging.

Ebay is full of fake parts. Contact Sachs and raise a complaint with them and see what they have to say about it

They're definitely knackered, I'll speak to Sachs directly and see what they say, thanks

Those parts and the response from the seller are shocking. I fitted genuine Volvo mounts to my V40 - about £30 each IIRC - and still as good as new 60,000mls later. I would expect the same from a brand like Sachs.

Clarkey: I did the same but within a short time they got clunkey. I do live down a 5km gravel mountain track.
My answer was to revert to Phase one mountings, trouble was, they dont fit pahse 2 struts. No prob. got 2 x Ph one struts, replaced the iffy mounts and 4 years on, solid.
Also had to change the anti roll bar drop links too.

I am keen to go to the infinitely better P1 setup, the only caveat being that I have h and r lowering springs fitted, so I'm unsure whether these would fit a P1 strut or not.
