I hate you diesel and 1.6l petrol drivers.
T4:Record high - 36mpg, cruising back from Snowdon to Surrey all motorway. Record low - I have seen as low as 28mpg from a tank before, when driving like a hoonigan. Usual commuting backroad driving sees me 30-31mpg.

Don't worry about it I have had a 30mpg low from my 1.8 and a high of only 36mpg. I think alot of these guys are quoting their trip computers rather than the actual calculated mpg from a full fill-up based on the miles travelled. Trip computers are always way out by approx +10% and get worse with age.

Your T4s 28MPG is impressive for a turbo charged car that is been driven by the scruff of it's neck! low 30s is also impressive.

I can't think the volvo will be much better when the fuel gauges are also out my gauge gives 240-280miles to half a tank but only 420-440 for a full tank and my mates is just as bad because I think they have a live float rather than delayed float. It's also effected by whether the car is level since I've had new springs put on the car it has been a bit more consistent. I drive 75%+ motorway and on a good month clock up 2000 miles so I have kept a close eye on the fuel gauge its irratic and can go up slightly mid journey and the best I have ever got calculated on a full tank is 36.4mpg. I don't drive quickly and stick at 70mph on the motorway, see my fuelly account: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/mcouchard/v40

36.4 seems about right!
My Fuel gauge needle can never decide what it wants to do! Last week it dropped into the red, next day it goes out of the red and petrol light switches off!

Diesel tuning box added to my 1.9D, large increase in torque and a fair bit more power, MPG has increased to:
Town - 45ish (still testing) Motorway - 62mpg |

Get an Apexi AVC-R like I have, it learns what gear you are in and adjusts the boost solinoid to ensure you reach the set boost level specifically for each gear, think of it like an adaptive ECU for boost lol
