Default Spark plugs for a 1.4

I have some NGK ZGR5B spark plugs, will they be OK for my manual 1989/90 1.4GL ?

Many thanks.

Aye go on, sling 'em in. NGK says they'll do*.

*probably with a big fat disclaimer.

Thank you, that is most helpful. I did not find that chart, kept coming up with NGK motorcycle charts.

The handbook that came with the car states that the Volvo part number for the plugs is 271409-5.

I got the idea that NGK ZGR5B might be OK by looking at ebay sales.

If I find other manufacturers equivalents, like Champion and Bosch, I will post them here, in case it is useful to someone else.

From my Haynes Manual, it looks like Champion N9YCC and N9YC can be used, but it's not that clear, can someone else check theirs please?

Looks like Bosch WR7LC may also be an alternative. It's in this chart as an alternative to the NGK ZGR5B

Looks like Champion RN7LCC are another possible suitable plug.

Forget champion, they only make fishing weights. I've yet to find any Volvo that will run on all cylinders with champion plugs fitted!

Thanks for the warning, I shall avoid Champion then. But, for more than 40 years, I have been using Champion N5/N9Y in BMC A series engines with no problems,

Only plug problem, was once, a Bosch set of plugs, ditched those immediately.
