strange microswitch on pump, smoke, lumpiness, and mpg
the car in general is quite well behaved, but it does smoke when pushed hard. it has had the usual Forte cleaner with no effect. also sometimes when accelerating hard its very slightly lumpy, then when you ease off the gas sometimes you get a small amount of acceleration even though your easing off. also sometimes if you pull up at a junction or something and let it tick over, it sometimes ticks over at 1500rpm. its almost like an enrichment device is sticking. when looking over the engine i did notice a microswitch, on top of the pump, which is operated by a plastic cam which, on my car, has broken slightly, so the setting probably is out. what is this for? also the car seems to do about 45mpg regardless of how or where its driven, town or motorway, is this normal?
