Default V90 rear door alignment

Hi. My first post on this forum :-)

I have just taken delivery of my new V90 (and then jumped in my other half's V60 and drove down to south west France.... so withdrawal symptoms after just one day using it!).

Anyway, I was disappointed with the rear door alignment, especially on the drivers side. Its probably about 4mm high at the back edge. I mentioned it to the dealer and we looked at their demo car which was 2 or 3mm high. The one in the showroom was perfect.

So is this a known quality issue... and more importantly can the dealer adjust it without opening a can of worms. I looked at the hinges and they appear to be bolted from behind which would mean trim removal I guess. But it's like kitchen cupboard doors.... changing it would have a knock on effect on other stuff like striker plates and seals.

What does the forum think?

Cheers
Nick

I think good pictures are essential before any comment.

Where is it misaligned? It is usually possible to adjust doors to fit perfectly it just needs a bit of time and patience. Shouldn't throw other things out a good bodyshop has to do this all the time following a repair.

It's just the back edge.... you can see the widening gap along the bottom edge. I just thought from the factory it should have been perfect...

One of my rear doors was incorrectly aligned on my XC90. My car was in the dealers for a few days with various faults and they sorted it out. Appears they can adjust various angles...

Not great quality control for a £60k car...
