Let me know how it goes with the 225 40 18 tyres, mine has 215 45 18 and I was wondering if slightly wider tyres would rub (not that mine will need changing for a couple of years)

Yes, I've checked this out too and I'm OK with a small difference, plus I tend to use my satnav as my speedo on most occasions. Width of tyres will determine which spacers I get – I reckon 15mm will definitely be OK, 20mm I'm not sure on...

OK, instead of changing my rear tyres on my 18" Atreus wheels, I've gone and bought some 19's! Will add more pics once on... although I might change the colour of these wheels to silver first...

What wheels are they and how much were they? (if you don't mind me asking!)

BBS replicas?

Wow, not many 19' on our cars around, I hope it will work without any issues!
design looks deadly. Why changing from black? would look awesome on white car!

Hi FunkyMelon, yes they are BBS CH reps, called 'Dare DR-CH'. I was looking for BBS CKs initially but it looks like I was a bit late to the party and it's hard to find either style to be honest! Ideally I was after a used set but nothing came up so I found a retailer with these black 19" reps in stock (silver ones have stopped being made ). With a bit of discount the full set excluding rubber was £495... not bad! Let me know if you want any other details.

I asked on a C30 facebook group about issues with 19's, and it seems like it's OK as a number of them run 19s on lowered suspensions, but there's only one way to find out for sure and that'll be when I fit them!

I know black wheels are considered 'sporty' looking, but I've never liked black wheels on any colour of car... it might be that lighter wheels show the low-profile tyre better maybe... I just hope the ride isn't too much worse!

As it currently is:

Photoshop versions with BBS CH black or silver wheels (I think I lightened the black wheels too much actually though):

Not to mention black wheels show all the dirt and unless you're willing to clean them daily, most look rubbish!

Love the wheel design, not a fan of the text on them though, I'll probably come back to this when my tyres next run low, thanks for the info!

EDIT - Anthracite would look good IMO...

Or gun metal grey...
