Default Rear lighting assembly

All,

I have a V70 D5 (2002) and the wife has just reversed into a gate post and has boken the driverside rear lighting assembly. It seems that the lenses are broken as opposes to the bulb/bulb holders etc so my question is :- Can you get replacement lenses only or do you need to buy a whole lighting unit ? (I have searched the internet but is seems that you can only get complete headlight units ?

secondly :- am I right in thinking that it would need to go to a garage to replace the unit as it all seems molded into one or is there a quick way DIY around it ?

Thx in advance

I'm pretty sure you have to buy the entire unit, not just the lens. As to removal, I've seen it done in a pub car park, so not a dealer job.

Not sure if the 2002 has a different set up to the 2005 model, but I replaced one of mine last year following a similar mishap.

The lens is seperate from the bulb section, although on the later model there is the small PCB with the side LED marker lights that has to be swapped over.

The job was relatively simple to do, removing the trim from the inside was the most difficult part but with a little care and some help from the 'net I managed it.
