Angry V50 glow plugs

Hi folks, is it just me or is changing glow plugs in an '08 V50 2.0l a state secret. I have searched high and low and still can't find anywhere that details how to do this. Have had a look at the engine and can see where the plugs are but cannot figure out how to extract them. Is there anyone out there who knows how to do it, otherwise it's of to the main dealer and out a fortune for labour costs. Thanks, Davy

Hopefully someone like Clan (forum member) will be along soon and can give you the info you seek. If not give him a PM and ask him, he's a nice chap.

I've got a petrol V50 so have not seen where the plugs are in the your diesel, maybe you can take a picture so we can see?

Most other deisels are pretty straight forward in that you remove an electrical wire/connection and then unscrew the plug. If you can see them then that is half the battle.

I'll have a look on Vida later.

Bump, I was wondering the same, can't find out anything other than people saying you shouldn't need to replace them!

I looked at doing this and was told not too. 1) Due to the size they have a tendency to corrode in there and could sheer off and then you stuffed. So was advised to pop it to a dealer or specialist and get them to do it for the sake of £50 if they sheer off then its there insurance that pays for it if it goes wrong...

Getting mine done when I have my AUX belt done in the new year.

the other factor at play is they do not really get used much in these cars...
