Default etm replacement

i have a 2000 v70 2.4 petrol, car sluggish intermittently with ets and engine management light showing, loss of power however no cut out, then after engine turn off sets itself. From all i am reading it looks like ETM failure and have booked into main dealer next week at cost of £390,however my mate on a lesser diagnostic machine confirmed "throttle fault" therefore dont want to give dealer another £80 for diagnostic. So my question is,if i do not have their diagnostic is there likelihood that it could be something other than the ETM causing these symptoms?

I had the MAF changed on mine which made quite a difference but that did throw up a MAF specific error code. I've also had a clean and software update done by Volvo. This basically puts off putting on a new one for a bit longer. All seems ok at the moment. Maybe worth looking into this perhaps?

Sounds like the throttle body is def at fault though if you've got a throttle code and the symptoms... not much else would do it I don't think

Throttle pedal transducer or most probable the ETM, have you got the fault code numbers from the vehicle - Mike
