can't imagine how the tracking is out but in terms of the abs then your brakes will work still but the abs system will be lacking a reliable feed from one of the wheels so will be turned off.. you will have to drive / brake as if you have not got abs fitted.. no experience of volvos as I only just bought my first but generally the first thing to check with abs light is to push the sensors back in place..

The OP meant "tracs" as in the traction control system.

Get the ABS fault code(s) read and go from there.

lol daft me..

OK.. as I said, only joined here as I just bought my first volvo but lots of experience with ABS.. the sensors for the abs and the tracs will be the same ones.. the brain may also be the same.. tracs should prevent wheelspin so the same applies as I said.. your car will still work and the brakes will be fine but your ABS and tracs will be switched off - hence being able to spin the wheels. Getting the faults read is the right first step then as the fault caused the wheelspin not the other way round..

same thing happened in another car i have (mkiv golf gti). it turned out that in my case, a power surge of some sorts (possibly jump start) caused the abs module to short circuit.

it meant a replacement.

hope it's not the same with you though
