Question 2011 S60 Geartronic test

Hello All.
I've just joined after reading some of your very useful content, it's a great site. I have an 08 V50 which has been fantastic but its time to move on and I'd like to stick to Volvo, so I am going to look at a 2011 s60 2.0 D3 SE lux with the Geartronic gearbox, it has 70000 miles and a fsh.
I'm a little worried about potential gearbox issues. Is there anything I can do when I go to look at the car to test it?. I'm not a complete novice with cars but this is my first time looking to buy an Auto.
While I'm at it, is there anything else in particular I should pay particular attention to? The gear box is my big concern though.

Thank you.

Just make sure you take it on a long drive and get the engine/gearbox properly warmed up to check it changes smoothly still.

The post 2005 six speed boxes are more reliable, especially in the smaller non AWD platforms.

Thanks Tannaton.
He's meeting me half way to see the car so it should be well warmed up by that stage, not ideal for looking at a car but good to check the gearbox at least. I'm glad to hear the newer ones are better, my friend had an old model S60 and the gearbox went on him, he had to get rid of the car.
Thanks.

Hi - are there any independent volvo specialists near you that you could drive the car to for a check-over?
First step - see how YOU feel about it.
If YOU thinks it feels Ok and worth the money, get an independent opinion.
If it's worth spending money on....depends what you're planning to pay for it, of course!
good luck:-)
