Angry What a nightmare.

After spending many days and loads of money putting another engine in my V70 T5 along with some other new parts, i have got it up and running it runs really well but i cant get the cooling fan to work also the cooling system will not bleed up, it just keeps chucking coolant out the expansion tank. The engine was sold to me and was promised it was absolutely fine but i think it probably has a head gasket problem. Think it's time to say by by.

How are you bleeding the system? If you are leaving the pressure cap off then that's your problem.

The way i bled the system, was to leave the car running with the expansion cap off and let the car automatically release the air out when the thermostat opens, then just as it starts to boil over screw the cap back on,the fan takes ages to kick in on the 70 series, but the temp gauge will never read more than halfway

My temp gauge went 3 quarters of the way up maybe abit more at one point. yesterday the fan cut in fine but today it just wont cut in and the car is starting to overheat so i have to keep switching it off.

Thanks

All the wire's look fine. Is there anyway of making the fan run manually?
