Default XC90 seatbelt replacement help please

I have a 2012 XC90 and the middle row (second row) middle seatbelt had to be cut by the fire brigade after my daughter randomly became tangled up in the belt. It was a pretty scary situation.

So Volvo said it'll set me back about £300 for them to replace the belt. That's parts and labour. My mechanic says he can replace it much cheaper but we have looked everywhere for a replacement belt and there is every other belt available except the middle row middle seat. So my question is...

Because the seat in the middle is a three point harness, would it be acceptable to buy a belt which is for the middle row right or left side? Depending upon which side the middle row belt starts from? The original fixtures are intact and weren't in a collision so it literally just the belt that is needed. Of not... Am I wording the search incorrectly?

Thankyou in advance

May be easier /cheaper buying a middle seat and removing the belt from it.

Thankyou that's a good idea. I'll need to find one fairly close by.

Just for your info, although I live in North East England I have previously used the second seller in Antrim that I listed for you.

Everything was as described and in good condition plus they posted out quickly. They will post the seat out.

Huddersfield Volvo breakers are also very good to deal with and worth a try.

In situations like this in the past I've bought the item - but then rung/e-mailed the seller explaining I only want a part of it so they don't need to post it all - usually works (last time on a Land Rover 300 TDi exhaust manifold and EGR valve - only needed the Valve).

That's great thankyou. I will ask them if they can just post the belt out.
