Question 1000 rpm vibration

Hi i am new to this forum and so to to volvos. I have a 2011 xc90 r design with 34000 miles on the clock. When in park or neutral and i rev the engine, As the revs come back down there is quite a vibration from what seems like the front when at about 1000 rpm`s. Anything above or below seems fine. Just wondering is this normal or should i be concerned. Any feed back would be greatfully received
Thanks Spectrumbertie.

Diesel or petrol?

I have a 2003 D5 and at idle it has an unusual pulse sensation at idle. its actually the fact that its a 5 cylinder engine and its the way that 5 cylinders fire differently in comparison to 4 or 6 cylinder engines.

Pulsing at idle is also a classic symptom of defective injector(s)

I did wonder if mine might be on the way out, wasn't sure if it was them or the glow plugs.

Some cold days take longer to turn over

the glowplugs don't get used unless its something like -15 or something ridiculous, the starting is all compression ignition.

That's good to know, am new to diesel tech, last car was supercharged v8. I know petrol well.

There is a place near me who are good at checking and cleaning injectors. Might see them and see if they can identify which ones need changing.

Tempted if one needs it to replace all. Car is at 138k

A closed feed Diesel Purge will probably be just as effective for about £20.
Mine runs like a sewing machine and it's done 40k more than yours and I also have the supposedly problematic 2002 injectors.
Just clean them first and maybe change your fuel filter as there's often no need to spend big on old D5s.

Default Vibration Issue

Hi

Having exactly the same issue on a '13 Xc90 that i have just purchased (SELEKT).

Taken it back to the dealer and said its the vacum mounts (which they said are working ok) kicking in and therefore 'normal'. Didnt feel this on my old XC90.

Anyone able to assist with this?

thanks
