So some people are careful enough not to seat with wet jeans... If you are the more careless type, well go for black |

I've got Calcite and 3 kids (11, 9 & 5) and no issues whatsoever. A previous thread extolled the virtues of unperfumed pampers wipes for taking off the odd grubby mark which I have done from time to time.
In essence all seats will get dirty but with the lighter shades you are more likely to clean them resulting in better longevity. |

Thanks for all the comments.
On the colour of the leather, I'm not the most attentive of car cleaners and the rear of the car normally has half a field or beach embedded in it...so as I said although my heart says calcite, my head says black. I had heard about Jeans possibly being a problem, and it sounds like more hassle than it's worth to go calcite, but we'll see. I've had lots of cars with black interiors, but the XC90 does feel like it needs a bit of a lift - it's very dark inside, or maybe that's just me? I'd done a bit of reading on some of the other threads about the differences in ride quality between the two. I will pop to the dealer this weekend and get a test drive in both if I can. The R has it on looks and for the "sport" chassis. I will ask about the wheels as well. No one has any info on the "week 37" option on the configurator though? Thanks for the input! Oh, an what's the consensus on tow bars? Volvo or after market ? Lastly if there are any dealers out there who can beat Drive the deal feel free to get in touch. I'll be ordering in the next week. vo lv o AT crell.plus .com ...just remove the spaces |

As luck would have it I've also got a towbar on mine so as well as the leather option I can add some opinion on the towing options.
Personally I don't like the Volvo detachable bar which leaves the bracket showing out the back of the cut bumper and the electrics on show. I've got the totally invisible (when removed) Westfalia swan-neck bar and 13 pin electrics with XC90 specific wiring kit. All fitted by my local towbar fitting company for a shade over £500. I've heard of the same kit done DIY for around £400 but to be honest when I saw the hassle of dropping the exhaust, lining up the bar for fitting and the 4 hours spent doing the job I thought £100 extra was well worth it. Plus I didn't have to worry about making an arse of the underside cut to the bumper trim. |

re towbar question I had Volvo fixed bar fitted by dealer to my R-Design. My thought process was a) I like the look of a tow bar on the car imo it suits the look of the back and gives it some extra 'depth' b) when parked if someone gets too close to the back they will 'nudge' the towball rather than my bumper and c) I dont find I hit my shins on it as it doesnt seem to stick out beyond the bumper as much as some. Nice and quick to use too.
