In Card Audio without engin running

Am I being stupid.... ? Is there a way of powering the audio sytem when parked and the engine is off without having power to the clocks and internal ventilation fans? When I turn the ignition key to the first position to get music etc. other things fire up as well. Is this correct?

opps!....I did mean engine and not engin!

That's odd as on my 04 in pos I only the radio and windscreen wipers work. The fan ect all turn off.

It depends, if you have the ECC on full auto, the fans will not run when ignition is in position 1, if you change the fan speed manually, it will run at that speed though

I can run the stereo without the engine running (can't remember what key position and wife's in the car right now) but be warned, the [premium] system sucks battery and it doesn't take long before there's a low battery warning on the dash.

It is correct. The manual actually calls ignition position 1 "the radio position" and it says that the "cars electrical system is not activated" and "certain electrical components can be switched on". I too find it a bit annoying that the ventilator fans came on but now I switch them off when waiting and the radio turned on.
