Sugar glass
[QUOTE=Peter V70 D5;2178685]Thanks for coming back.
I think the tinting is a factory job from new Can't see any clear window through the bits that flake off When a mild detergent is applied it turns to a sticky hard to remove sludge It looks like a mild frost only on the inside of the glass' Think you may be right about the stuff the Car Wash boys spray |

not sure if it will help, but ive spent a number of years applying and removing window tints from many vehicles.... you may find this has had an aftermarket tint fitted and what your left with is the residue glue/adhesive.... for what it costs id try a cheap bottle of wilkos own brand nail polish remover... works evey time for me and is far cheaper than some dedicated formulas... def worth a go....

Sugary Windows update
Sorry have been unable to upload any photos (Thanks for all the suggestions ,it just doesn't like me)
But I think I know whats going on Part of the problem is something has got in between the vinyl? tint and the glass and is all squishy there is also flakey hard white stuff that can be rubbed off the inside of the window with difficulty but makes a sticky mess when wet. Did someone say the tint can be removed? would that be expensive? It's an ex company car so I assume the tint was an original Volvo one. V70 D5 se 2009 |

Definitely not a factory fit as that is built into the glass and not removable, unless you change the glass
What you describe is an aftermarket tint that has been allied by someone which does sound like it is going to be a pain to remove

Some recent (exterior) detailing updates where I experimented a bit with my choice of shampoo and two different quick detailers/sealants. I was striving for a 'wet look' finish.

very unclear what your intent/aim is and which product you have IF If it is for general cleaning of the Dash https://gtechniq.co.uk/shop/auto/interior/i2-tri-clean/ then that will work perfectly, and will also work on all the other surfaces inside the car that its safe to use on, https://gtechniq.co.uk/shop/auto/int...matte-dash-ab/ dress the dash with that and avoid the horrible shine/glossy finish of cheap/nasty "dressings"
