I have large bottles of Gliptone leather conditioner and cleaner. However, I've found the application of Gliptone to be time-consuming, but it does produce great results.

Detailed the wheels and tyres today.

For the wheels I started the cleaning with Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner followed by Korrosol fallout remover. This is a fantastic product and dissolves metallic particles that cling to the clearcoat of the wheels. In parallel I scrubbed the tyres with a soft brush after squirting some Surfex HD degreaser onto them (diluted 1:1 so very strong).

Rinsed the tyres and wheels thoroughly and dried with a soft drying towel. Then sealed the wheels with Race Glaze Nano Wheel Sealant and dressed the tyres with CarPro PERL Coat Protectant.

Many of these products are new to me and I'm very happy with the results of a couple of hours work:

Next on the to-do list is the paintwork and glass. That's going to take at least two days so will have to wait.

Default v70 p3 sticky windows again.

When I (or the carwash people) try to clean the inside side windows you get a sticky sugary mess on the surface which is almost impossible to remove .

Meths does make some inroads but is seems to come back. looks like somebodys crashed into the glass with a candy floss which has set hard. it will flake away bit by bit with the edge of a credit card but takes hours to clear.

Does the tint on the window fail like this?

The mystery is what is it, and why does it keep reoccurring?

Could be the window tinting. Perhaps the carwash people used a chemical that was too harsh?

The problem with any coating is that one it's chipped or cracked then moisture will get underneath it and ruin it.

Do you have any photos to show the problem? Also, have the windows had aftermarket tinting?

Thanks for coming back.
I think the tinting is a factory job from new
Can't see any clear window through the bits that flake off
When a mild detergent is applied it turns to a sticky hard to remove sludge
It looks like a mild frost only on the inside of the glass'
Think you may be right about the stuff the Car Wash boys spray

I'll have to post some photos and put them up it only really shows when the sun is out!
thanks again.

Car wash people don't spray the inside of the car therefore not likely to be your issue - sounds to me like there has been some film applied inside the car and you are seeing the remains of the adhesive from it.

Try Isopropyl Alchohol - make sure windows are open though!! - or get a tin of adhesive remover from a well known DIY merchant.

You'll need to upload the photo to a photo-sharing site like Photobucket first, and then get the IMG code from there.

Or even easier is to attach it to the post by using the little paperclip above where you type in the text. This will then let you select the image from your computer and it will appear at the bottom of your post.
