I guess you mean the clutch pulley from the compressor? Yes, it came with a new one.
The alternator pulley is also new (ina) and is tested.

Thanks for all the people who share their thoughts.

No I meant the clutch pulley on the alternator.
If a non clutch pulley has been fitted to the alternator, it will stress the belt and other pulleys and create noise.

The exact part number of the pulley fitted to the alternator would be useful to confirm.

The pulley on the alternator is a clutch pulley (INA), it's a new one, and is tested. (using screw-driver to turn the fan in one direction).

Part number of the pulley INA 535 0121 10

Question

Have you looked at belt alignment? There will be a change in belt load with a/c on that might exaggerate any belt misalignment.... try spraying belt with some silicone spray before driving and see if noise disappears.

I haven't checked the alignment using a tool, on the first sight everyhing seems ok. Is it possible that the alignment isn't right? Is there room for misallignment? The alternator can only be possitioned in one way, the same for the powersteeringpump and the compressor. Same for the driveshaft pulley.

You say you had the condenser repaired and the noise started . It sounds like you may have introduced some debris into the AC system . This can cause the noise you have . Try getting an Air con specialist to flush the system . speak to a few AC specialist for an opinion and you may find one that has experienced the same problem It might work and worth a try as that noise would drive me crazy . good luck and let us know hat you find .

When I bought the car, the ac didn't work. The condensor appeared to have a leak so the system was empty. So i have no idea what sound the ac made before the repair.
I can't believe there is debris in the system, in the oil there was no debris, is was pure oil.
Problem here in Belgium is that every local garage calls himself an ac specialist. In reality they have a fill station that vacuums the system and refill it, and thats it.

It's very difficult to find the reason of this problem, Is it a problem of the ac system? Is it a problem of the power steering pump that is amplified when the ac is on, is it a resonation? I really don't know.

The car has been diagnosed by the dealer, an a Volvo specialist, both have no idea what's the problem.

It is unlikely to be belt rub as the belt runs with the air on on or off and the noise only there when the air con is switched on.
