Talking stiff steering

Hi guys not posted for a while so thought my latest trial/tribulation with my 2003 v70 d5 might be of interest should someone be experiencing the same.
It started a while ago and i thought it was my imagination that the steering was getting a bit stiff as it seemed to slacken off after driving a while anyway as time progressed it got worse where i was having to bring it back/correct it after every turn even after driving for a while so thought hmm something amiss here!
So fearing the worse-rack/pump/top mounts/ball joints it turned out to be the knuckle on the end of the steering shaft where it connects to the rack/was completely seized in one direction of travel.
Tried everywhere for a new one to no avail unless i was prepared to wait possibly weeks then no guarantee so managed to find a good 2nd hand one and now am cooking with gas so to speak -am in love again ha.
