It looks like Volvo have developed a solution. From the Play Safe sub page of the new XC40 Recharge:

Quote:
Park your pure electric XC40 Recharge with peace in mind. Advanced theft-protection technology helps ensure your car will be there the next time you need it. It even helps prevent thieves from capturing the radio signal from your remote key when you’re at home. When the key is not in motion, it will simply be impossible to copy any signal from it.

Not too worried myself, but if I lived in a big city I'd certainly consider it.
Nice one! Quite an elegant solution.

Thats very nice and great for new vehicles.

For the rest of us we have to keep our keys in tins, pouches, microwaves or buried in the garden!

They should recall all cars and upgrade the system for free if they gave two hoots, which I doubt they do!!

I would have thought you could buy one and it can be programmed to your car.

Or disable keyless entry?

What car do you have now? Sorry to hear about your stolen car. I read the whole thread from page 1 to here. Mine is a 2016 XC60 and it does not have keyless entry altho I would have loved to have one... but loving the car so far!

That must have taken you a few minutes!

Having had to look for a car again just a few months after doing it originally I found that the XC60 was still my car of choice.

I ended up buying a Momentum Pro that was 10 months old.

It's been great and tbh I don't miss any of the Inscription Pro extras and the seats are actually more comfortable (see other threads about this!).

I have been using a Stoplok and putting the keys in a faraday pouch but occasionally forget one or other (maybe even both) so hope that the secure-a-key does what it says on the tin.

Haha yeah - took me a fair few minutes! P
Got mine in March. 2016 model D5 SE Lux. I would have liked to go for a newer model (to keep value high) but I couldn't extend my cash to the new shape.
I'm glad you got a new car... One of your earlier comments was about Pinner. Do you live in that area? My parents use to live in Harrow On The Hill! I kinda miss that place but not been there for years now since my parents retired farther down south.
