Here is the other side, even more corrosion and one part of the Aluminium outer has completely gone. No wonder it was starting to feel softer in the corners.

The replacement pro sport bush that I’ve now replaced them with for comparison. These have a Steel outer so should last a lot longer.

I'm genuinely confused why they made them out of aluminium, have they never heard of galvanic corrosion? Aluminium is going to come off a lot worse than steel when the two mix.

I can’t either, didn’t realise at the point of purchase. By the time I got them they needed fitting to pass the MOT, after that time took its toll. I didn’t have a lot of money at the time but now I have a better job I’ve bought far better items.

In theory the Anodising should have protected against corrosion but in just fitting with a press fit it’ll damage the anodising as it’s usually only microns thick anyway.

The Aluminium had to be cut out as it was crumbling that much I couldn’t get them to press out.

Decorative anodising over the cheapest tin known to man. Even the chinese would suck air through their teeth at that material quality.
