Heavy steering!
Hi all I recently bought my manual Volvo v40 65 plate a few months ago and recently have had some issues with heavier than normal steering..
I’ve had the power steering pump, rack and fluid checked by a mechanic as well as the wheel alignment done. It sometimes goes light but overall is a lot heavier and is no longer a breeze to drive as it was previously. It feels horrible to use on the motorway, taking corners and even at lower speeds. On top of that it also feels kinda jerky at times and doesn’t always fully return to the centre. Anyone experienced similar or has had heavier steering that cannot be diagnosed? Thanks! |

The V40 has all electric power steering so there is no fluid or pump.
This thread from another forum may help:- https://www.volvov40club.com/threads...%20consumption. Probably best to get it diagnosed by a Volvo dealer or specialist. |
