VIDA - Dice Problem

Hi All

Issue
I am trying to get my DICE unit working. I have 2014D VIDA working with no problems. Can see all the parts and repair sections.

System
On a Oracle Virtual Box, via Window 7 Pro (32 Bit) and Internet Explorer v11

Problem
When I attempt to run on VIDA, I get the @Communication Error@.The DICE is visible (eg DICE-206751) but does not seem to be able to upload the latest Firmware 5.6.2 , (Indicates 5.6.0.0) as the current version is blank in the firmware update. I can see the Driver Provider (Setek AB) and have linked it via the USB settings. When click on update, it says that it is the most up to date driver. The DICE is flashing, although my suspicion is that the DICE is not working or the DICE drivers are out of date with 2014D.
I have a PDF with all the screen shots, so people can see and potentially diagnose what I have missed based on experience of there current system.

I am really out of ideas, after having read various threads.

Any direction/observations greatly recevied

You have one of those situations where you'd need to either try a known working Dice with your Vida installation or your Dice with a known working Vida installation.

It's because of glitches like this that so many people have paid a little extra for my tested and guaranteed working Dice.

Vida would usually tell you if it was unable to talk to Dice due to a firmware incompatibility.

Hi I would not try and update the firmware, unless you got your one from Volvo,
you still have driver problems, there was a post last week were some one had the same problem , he used a different driver, I think it was from an older vida,

Hi
remove the rubber cover on the dice unit and see that the small usb plug is correctly plugged in to the unit,

also when you are testing it, is it plugged in to the car or a power adaptor ?

Hi Dave

Thats a fair point on the USB cable.

I have not used a separte power supply to the DICE, as i have just used the OBC power.

Will try and power up separetly to see if that make a difference

didnt read the rest , I stopped at IE11 - it only runs on IE9 mate

Not the case.
Everyone who buys mine runs it on IE11 without issue.

Fair enough. My 2014D specifically says to use 9.

Yes everyone's says that.
It's then just how you set up your laptop.
