Sorted it..

The ones in the front are a real pain, got them sorted, and I had blown the
fuse as well.

All ok now, going out tonight to have a look..

You could try measuring the voltage across the terminals. I'd be surprised as this would be a precursor to a flat battery. Does the glow disappear after a few minutes ? It could be residual phosphorescence from the bulb.

Has anyone replaced the front indicators with LEDs ? Seems a bit of a mismatch that the indicators in the mirror are LED so instant on/off, but incandescent in the main fitting ?

It'll be because leds are such low current devices. Would think that dropping a resister in there somewhere would fix it.. Or indeed canbus friendly versions.

I raised a similar question some months back.

It's a really bizarre situation, not just from Volvo, but from other manufacturers as well. Examples include: CR-V, Qashqai, X-Trail, Seat Leon all proudly offering 'full headlamps' on certain models, but not in all the front indicator or rear light clusters. VW go one better. On the Golf and Passat you can get LED headlights as standard or option, but only in the very top models do you get full LEDs in the rear light clusters. The lesser Golfs can have LED headlamps as an (expensive) option, but you still don't get LED DLRs. Stupid and illogical, other than to create a carefully managed model hierarchy to prevent you getting selected top-end goodies on the lesser models.

Should have said in above post, the Golf has Bi-Xenon option, the Passat has LED option. Remining light LED heirarchy still applies.

How did you get the wedge based led's to fit the bulb holder for the internal map lights, since the connection on the led differs to the standard bulb? Did you modify the led so that it touches the metal parts in the holder?

I've got the correct led's but not sure how to get them to contact the metal parts in the holder.
