I know some people will disagree but I find I can accelerate faster.

I know what you mean, I feel it gets away from the line quicker if you can control the throttle.

yeh you can, on your dash but it is only partially off. should be on your left stick ,just scroll to the option and hold down the button to turn it off.

Turning off is only really beneficial if driving on snow or ice.

For being stuck in snow I have found it best to leave all driver aids switched on but to apply careful 'dabs' of left-foot braking whilst keeping some power on, the front wheels dig in and grab a bit more traction to get moving, I live on a steep hill

I have actually found quite the opposite unless there is something wrong with my car. in the snow and slush I was coming up the drive and found that the wheels were struggling for any grip at all and this DSTC kept kicking in blunting any progression. After turning it off I actually managed to get going allowing the wheels to spin, it was a huge difference .... but after putting the winter tires on it is defenitly much better with DSTC on

Nothing wrong with your car, its similar on mine. We had a 1 night (literally - 1 night) of nice snow&ice so I had my annual 'empty-parking-fun' sorted that day. It also confirms that low grip tyres +DSTC ON = you go nowhere. I only have summer tyres and on snow&ice DSTC was invasive so much that even taking off was problematic. DSTC disabled (via OEM button) atleast allowed to move with huge wheelspin but with some outcome. No idea how it would behave on good winter tyres and proper snow - having it ON would probably help with takeoff but not with actual moving/turning. Tried to drive a bit with this thing but seriously - it just kills the car overcompensating and damping any attempt of manouvre.
On a positive side - its confirmed now that you can drift even AWD-haldex car in similar way to RWD, it just understeers a bit more. The only day a year when my secret button was actually helpful

Oh right haha ok good, i thought something might be wrong. but yes with DSTC on and with winter tires .... yes its like driving normally.

It was driving into my garage to pop on the winters where I got stuck with DSTC on, after turning it off I managed to spin the wheels to build up enough momentum to get into the garage. After reversing out with the winters ... it was just like driving around normally.

Had DSTC on here with winters and it was incredible climbing the steap mountain pass to get to the top.

And just to note on which one is faster, having DSTC on was defenitly faster running the 1/4 mile in Santa pod .... But turning it off at a track day was defenitly faster and if you keep driving hard the Traction control temporarily disabled makes flying round the corners even faster .... and not a single bit of understeer either

Wow, seriously I envy you looking at this pic :/
in here that is how annual snowstorm looks like

I dont know whether its because my car is AWD or because of my driving style, but so far I wasnt able to experience situation where DSTC ON would be more beneficial to having it off. And I keep trying for last 51k Kms!
