I have just started to have the same issue with my 2002 V70.

I have checked the obvious - that all the doors and tailgate are closed. That the internal lights work fine - when the door is open the lights come on, and they go off when the door is closed.

I wasn't sure if it was telling me that the key fob battery is running low? or there may be an issue with the door sensor? or another issue with the lock mechanism?

Would be good to get some thoughts from anyone with same issue...

Spray a load of Tec 7 GT7 in the keyhole and on the door lock. Make sure you get plenty in there. It doesn't do any harm to spray it around the button as well.

Hi if this does not work, would it help to remove the door panel and spray in the lock ? Is this a damp issue?

It's an issue that seems to affect a number of S60s and V70s. Since it first happened to my S60, I have periodically lubricated the locks and latches all round with GT7. This has prevented any recurrence of the issue.

Hi I was getting this, I was about to get another s/hand unit, but I sprayed GT85 into the lock, and after about 2 days it was fine , and it has been fine for about 1 year now,

I get the same problem. I find if I spray some wd40 into the keyhole and operate the key a good few times until it loosens up it works fine again for a while.

I've thought about taking door card off and lubing it all up but not sure how to do it
