Default Service Plan - VFM?

Hi- got an online quote for the Volvo service plan on my new T8. As its a 3 year lease I’ll stretch the first two services by a week / 10 days each and aim to return it just before the 3rd service becomes due. So a 2 year, 24k plan allows for 2 services only and comes in at £689.

Local dealer not able to give me a fixed price for the services on a PAYG basis, but sounded like they’d be in the region of £600.

Is this really just a spread the payment thing or am I missing something?

Thanks
D76

The Volvo Service Price Indicator says the first two services should cost around £655.

These service plans do seem to be simply a means of spreading the payments.

Thats a big hike from the D5 service prices, I got a Volvo 5 year service plan for £500, and they also do a 3 year plan for £300.
I have seen offers of free 3 year service plans for personal contract cars but not for anyone buying a car. (not sure if that included T8 models though)
Higher service costs are something to look forward too then as they will only be selling hybrid cars when I come to replace mine.

When I bought my XC90 I paid £500 for a 5-year service plan. Is this no longer available?

Yes, mines a fleet lease though my own company. It was confirmed the cheap plans were retail only.

Looks like it will be full whack, at least the VAT comes off that

Just checked the service price indicator for my D5 as it's just told me it's due. £370 incl VAT. Seems a lot for a gallon of oil and a filter.
Hope the wiper blades are still OK. £140

There's a long thread about wiper blades over on Swedespeed. The part number for the front blades is 31349377 and an OEM set is ~$50. This is a Volvo USA part number so probably a different part for RHD but these Valeo ones on Amazon UK for LHD are £34.

Apparently they are easy to fit so £106 for fitting seems excessive even by dealer standards.
