Just got a few engine parameters while driving, I wonder if the timing advance makes sense? I get pinging under heavier acceleration in lower gear, the fuel may be for something (87) but I wonder if there may be something else

.
timing is reasonable but 5 psi of boost pressure at idle is wrong , should be about zero or even slightly negative pressure depending where the sensor is .
what is boost with engine stopped ? should show atmospheric .

Would have thought the boost pressure would be blank - its a non turbo?? or is this me having another senior moment ... If so.. Sorry Clan.

But if one bit of the information is incorrect ( should be no boost) how does that affect the credibility of the other information given???
I would not trust it.

Cheers
Bob

It's technically a MAP sensor rather than a boost sensor so will show atmospheric pressure with engine off, ignition on regardless of the type of engine.

Once the engine is idling, a turbo would continue to show roughly atmospheric pressure and that positive pressure would rise when the accelerator is pressed whereas a non turbo would show a vacuum at idle and the vacuum would increase when the accelerator was pressed.

vacuum would decrease if accelerator was pressed, if sensor is in the manifold , as there is no vacuum with the throttle valve open,

but I think he is reading vacuum as 5psi is 344.738milibar , it is map/manifold , not BOOST pressure
atmospheric pressure is 1 bar about 14.65psi.

It's a non turbo. I only have the MAP sensor. I'll try to connect Torque again to read the pressure with the engine off.

It's too late now, I finally thrown away the ELM327, fed up with connection issues. Problem fixed

Mine was also vgate until it hit the concrete Some work fine but these are cheap made and many had issues connecting. I guess electric components get worn inside.
