Seat back is adjustable for rake and the seat squab both height and tilt. The horizontal switch is a multi-way switch: up, down, back, forward, angle etc - are you sure you're using the range of adjustment?

Hello, Assuming familiarity with the full operation of of these seats, I agree with crankie, the seats are real low. The driver's seat of my brother's 1993 240 had an "unbeknownst" knob at the rear of it's frame which, when pulled, relocated the seat rearward an additional 6". NOTE: It accommodated his 6"7" (200cm) height but put his head squarely beside the B pillar. I wish there was such a "super-adjustment" for height in our cars or at least a hardware option for the seat's frame. Kira

If anything for me it doesn't go low enough and I am a short arse too at 5'7".
Is there anything obstructing the seat?

Had my 2003 V70 3 months, i'm, 6'3" and the seats don't go low enough for me. I came from an 09 Mk 6 Golf, and the seat was more comfortable, and the drivers area roomier!

Red face How Low does it Go?

I'm 5'9" and i'm in the not low enough camp.

I've have a 2001 V70 T5 with manual seats and a 2006 S60R with electric, and the manual seats defo went lower. I put this down to the extra motors etc in the electric seats.

For me, even at the lowest point the steering wheel obscures the indicator lamps on the dash. Always wondered if taller folks find this a big problem.

Really silly question - nothing trapped under your seat??? as they do have a nice "well" under there that traps stuff floating in footwells.

My wife complianed when seshe could not adjust the seat when she drove the car around xmas, and i checked. Found a tin of de-icer lodged under there, and some change...

I have the manual adjusting front seats, in the base cloth. The driving position I like is to have the seat bottom all the way up at the rear height adjustment and all the way down at the front height adjustment. Then I adjust the angle of the seat back for most comfort and best visibility.

I am 5'11" with medium leg length for that height. Yet I have the fore-and-aft adjustment nearly all the way back. There would seem to be insufficient aft adjustment for tall and long legged drivers. I suppose they would have to have the seat bottom up in front and down in the rear to allow their long legs to arch to the pedals.

These V70 seats are much less comfortable than those in my wife's XC90, which also has the base cloth, but the seats in the XC90 are firmer and more confortable. Also the XC90 bottom is higher off the floor, making it much mofre comfortable for driving long distances.

I've just swapped my 2001 V70 manual heated leather front seats for a pair of S60 heated leather seats (drivers being electric), and there is a noticeable height difference on the 2. The orig were very comfortable and perfect height/legroom adjustment, but the S60 seats (plug n play), are defo higher at the front as I'm clipping my knees on the bottom of the steering wheel as I get in now. If I drop the seat down a bit, it's too low?? These replacements do "hug" you tho! And I thought the original's were really comfy....lol I suppose it's everyone's personal preference really.
