Basically, the Haltechs ECUs are setup for MAP sensors as opposed to MAF/AMM, they also need an air temp sensor. You can set them up for the MAF's but it's not the norm for aftermarket ecus. Also, the timing set up on the Redblock only really comes from the crank sensor on the flywheel, as well as the dizzy at the back, going for sequential ignition and injectors, you'll need to add a cam sensor or the Yoshifab cam & crank sensor.

I would recommend emailing a few of the ECU manufacturers before diving in. Either way, I think you won't be able to get away from making a custom wiring harness. The nice thing about Haltech's wiring harnesses is that they are easy to work with.

You don't have to use all of the Haltech sensors. You can get things like Honeywell pressure sensors, which is what Haltech sells, you can also get hold of GM Map sensors. On the flip side Haltech provide all of the connectors and pins you'll need for the sensors.

With further digging it seems that Yoshifab has everything I'd need.

The question is, do I need all that to make 300HP or can I do that with a mega squirt, 3 inch MAF, 19T turbo and a decent map?

You can do 300HP with LH2.4.
