Are Volvo BOAT parts suitable for cars?
Hi
I need these pipes for my 2001 D5 s60. I found them on Volvo boat parts websites like this one https://www.marinepartseurope.com/en...sure-pipe.aspx Is it suitable for cars? It has the same reference (31272680). Just want to make sure before ordering. Thanks |

If the part number is the same then yes the part will be correct.

If you can, check the price, prices for boat bit can be inflated - smaller market, perceived wealth??

I agree with 'Baxlin'. In my experience, maritime parts could cost as much as three times their automotive equivalent.
Regards, John.

It’s not only for cars: when updating the interior of our boat, we bought caravan fittings - exactly the same, but significantly cheaper. Presumably the caravan ownership is perceived to be less well off? (Sorry, I don’t mean to be ‘caravan-ist)

Electric pumps, flexible pipework, bulbs etc. again go the Caravan way in preference to Marine. And as for batteries Marine Dealer prices are hilarious!!!

I discovered I needed 2 brake cables for my caravan and ordered them online, each cable was just under £9.00 and next day postage was around £9 so a total of £27 to have them the following day. Then a couple of days later I was on the manufacturers parts website where two cable cost €91.44 plus shipping at €18.55. Little wonder caravaners are less well off...

As Tomoose says, yes the fuel pipes will fit. But as Baxlin pointed out you could be stiffed on the price, as they will claim to be Volvo Penta marine engine parts. Good luck.
