you can also plug a rear camera into that model for £50 ...

I will readily admit I am worse than useless with anything handy, so will always pay an expert to get it done properly! Does anyone know whether the service offered by Halfords to install Dashcams involves hard wiring them? Thanks.

Yes they do hard wire them. £30 for a front camera, £50 for a front and rear camera. They only fit if purchased from Halfords, they much prefer it if you buy the camera from the store you're having fit it too.

Instead of hardwiring mine I've purchased one of these, made installation a lot easier. Dashcam is to the left of the Intellisafe and wire runs above drivers side in the headlining, down the pillar in the door rubber and to the OBD port.

Wouldn’t it be great if manufacturers gave this as an option when buying the car. A front facing camera built into the intelisafe thing on the windscreen & manufactured camera for the rear window.

Without having researched this beforehand. I turned up at Halfords having booked a hardwire install for a new Nextbase to be fitted my my2020 V60

The fella spent about 30 mins on it before he gave up trying to find where he could hardwire it to..!

Definitely need one because my last car, in the space of 12 months or so, I had a drink driver rear end me, a council tractor side swipe me (both whilst I’m stationery!) and two lads try and ram then attempt carjack me.

So yeah. Will need to look at getting it installed once I get the car back from Volvo. Assuming they reopen.
