Default 2017 xc90 Diagnostic OBM2 tool for Electronic Parking Brake

Would anyone know of a non Volvo OBM2 port plug in diagnostic unit that can also put the electronic parking brake in and out of maintenance mode for a 2017 XC90. I have been checking the online models and so far I have found none that can work with the Gen2 2017 onward XC90.
I want to change my rear disk pads, this can be done by removing and unwinding the EPB unit from the rear caliper, but its a messy go round and far better to just placing the brake in maintenance mode..

I am sure someone on here did this without the OBD2 tool and said it was dead easy. I think it might have been user nu11eaf. Worth a search as maybe it is easier than you think?

I used a PP3 (smoke detector) battery to operate the motors and release/re-engage the rear EPM mechanism... even glued some screws to a lolly stick to make it simple! Or you can remove the motors and then carry on as normal.

Everything you need to know on either method is here (the last thread post is my update on how I did it)... https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...ighlight=lolly

Thanks for the replies.. I am a little wary ref removal of the wiring connector to the EPB for the 2017 XC90 when removing the EPB. There are a few reports that this causes errors in the 2017 - newer XC90's.. This appears conflicting to the earlier EPB equipped XC90's and other EPB equipped Volvo models where its stated you can remove the EPB wiring connector and power wind the EPB motor back and forth with a 9v battery.

I appreciate that manually removing the EPB, undertaking the pad change and manually then resetting the EPB after the pad change in itself is not a biggie to do, but there appears to be a risk that this will cause errors in the vehicles monitor system once undertaken. So that's why I was looking for a OBD2 unit to do it via the EPB maintenance setting, however, after speaking to one or two suppliers of these tools I have yet to find one that can do this ( apart from Volvos own Vida ) for the 2017 and newer XC90...
If anyone has any info to contradict the above then please advise..
