Is this a fuel Problem?
hi i own a 440 1.6i, its a great car and built like a tank!
i seem to ge problems with jerking, sometimes the car wont start, sometime can drive a hundred mile no prob, get into traffic and the jerking starts! The more juice you give it the worse it gets. she's off the road at the moment as she broke down with this problem, a few guys have taken a look as thought first it was the fuel pump rely, another guy said it was the fuel pump itself as it is pumping when turning over. also the bulb on my spedo doesnt work but all desplay lights do, i check all fuses and are ok, any thoughts? has anyone had the same type of problem, i really want to get her back on the road where she should be! Would really be greatfull to any help kind regards greg |

fuel problem
Is it ok for a bit and the it shudders and slows down, because I had a scimitar ss1 and it had a fuel leak and it would do what your's is doing. Can you smell fuel?
If not I would first check relay and fuse for fuel pump and then if it isn't that try a second hand fuel pump. Hope that helps a bit, Matt |
