power steering and oil filter prob
my dad has a 340 cvt with power stearing. the problem is he cant fit the normal 340 oil filter theres not enough room between the power stearing pump and engine. at the moment theres some sort of halfords filter on it which is about half the height of the volvo one. is this normal and can he get a volvo one that height or is there something wrong here, eg has the wrong belts been fitted?

RE: power steering and oil filter prob
TBH I didn't know that p/s was a factory option on 340s. I've only ever seen them on 360s. Erm, sorry I can't answer your question, but I would suspect that you'll have to go with a non-standard filter.
