Thanks Dai.
Things are moving Replacement hardlines (for a 240) are out for delivery today! I'm crossing my fingers, hoping to fix the car tomorrow... wish me luck.

The amount of times he's sent the wrong stuff to people suggests it isn't a genuine mistake. Is it free returns?

Correct pipes sent, just a odd ball rack.
Pulled the pipes from all the core racks for 7/900 series here to be sure and hoping to find one that would be the same as the ones required |

The pipes I was expecting last Thursday arrived, they look good, have the right ends at least.
I'll try them against the rack at the garage tomorrow and post results.

T'internet's been off (rainstormstorm) for couple of days.
Fixed but not perfect : going in again tomorrow. I'll update properly when I'm done. Got to concentrate.

Long story short.
C&C Barnett Garage (Brampton, Cumbria : GO THERE) already owned the hydraulic brake-pipe flaring device with one of the tools required for creating the right end-connectors for my hardlines. Backup hardline for a 240 from ClassicSwede is waiting : If I fail to make the pipe I'll re-bend one of those. So failure is not an option. A week after my hardline failure the genius known as Mark mentioned that they had a thing to make those ends. He still hasn't gone to work for the Formula-1 teams, so we benefit. One day later pipe made (carefully, with notes) installed, O-ring failure, did it again, success. Lost 500mil of ATF. Meh. For a perfect result next time I need the small pipe-bender - ebay ordered.
