Default 740 radiator crossmember

Hello Everyone,
Again, I have not signed on here for a while between one thing and another but happy to be back. My car is a 1990 (facelift), B200E, M47, 740 SE Estate.

Recently I mentioned I replaced the radiator crossmember and I promised pictures. Hopefully they will show OK.
Thanks to Luke (360beast)….. (When he saw a picture of my old one, he described it as the worst he had seen. See for yourself below.)
Anyway, he got a replacement to me and I stripped, sanded, sealed, primed, painted and polished it. Mechanic says it went in a treat. Also replaced shocks and front bake calipers.
So car all set now for our version of the MOT. As usual, a bit nervous but hopefully she will get through…….

Again Luke, thanks so much for your help.
I’ll keep you updated.

Mike

You're very welcome Mike, glad it's all back together.

Good luck with your NCT, let us know how you get on.

You've also just reminded me that I haven't got you a postage price for the radio.

Nice. Luke what's the deal with removing these? Just a few spot welds? I have one that is similarly terrible.

Hi Luke,
NCT is later this afternoon will let you know how it goes.
Looking forward to the radio, as I said, whenever it suits you.
All the best,
Mike

Four spot welds in the battery trays and I think that's it if I'm remembering correctly.
