Default Coolant Pipe Leak

While I was cleaning the wiring on my autobox yesterday I found something interesting. I have had an extremely slow coolant leak ever since I changed the radiator and top and bottom hoses last year. I have never been able to find the leak anywhere....now I have. The metal coolant pipe underneath the exhaust manifold that goes from the water pump to the a rubber heater matrix pipe has obviously corroded fro the inside out and has gone porous as it is a slimy green and has dripped it down the side of the block onto the bottom of the sump. I tried to have a closer look yesterday by removing the exhuats manifold heat shield but I couldnt get it off.....everything got in the way....autobox pipes, emissions system pipes...how is the heat shield supposed to come off officially? The photo in the VADIS CD shows a hat shield without the pipes pertruding but no info on how to get them out the way!!!! Also how much am I likely to pay for (Volvo part No.9142746) VADIS people will understand wat I mean.....and do I have to remove the exhaust manifold and timing belt to change it?

Contact Keith at Northwest Trading (advert in "Driver") who should be able to get you the part you need at a reasonable cost (and even mail order if necesary).

All the best, Peter.
