Default Roof bar end caps.

The plastic caps on the ends of the roof rails on our V70 are looking a bit tired. I was wondering if they are easy to remove and replace or respray as they detract from the appearance of the car a bit. Any thoughts please?

I think (hope) that I may have found the answer to this from the thread below. It's for the earlier V70, but I'm hoping method is the same for a 2008 model.

Not so simple on a P3 V70, I'm afraid. On previous models the end caps could be removed from outside, whilst the 2008-2016 models are entirely bolted on from inside the vehicle.

I am about to attempt swapping mine from black bars to aluminium (which I have already obtained). Those black bars are in excellent condition and you are welcome to have them for free if you like? Once I get them swapped, of course...

Oh no! That's disappointing! I watched a YouTube video of someone Stateside removing the caps, but I'd have to find it again to be sure whether it was a P2.
I appreciate your kind and generous offer, but I think that, like you, I prefer the silver look (even if mine are a bit scabby at the moment).
