Default Camshaft sensor

So the old S70 much beloved of SWMBO decided to illuminate the Lambda light, and start running more than a little rough.

My trusty £5 home-made flash code reader indicated at missing camshaft sensor signal. An internet search turned up a supplier in Exeter selling a brand new Lucas part for just £17.95 including postage.

The new sensor arrived, all neatly boxed and sealed in its Lucas branded packaging.

It took no more than five minutes to unbolt the old, and bolt in the new, and another five minutes to clear the fault code, again using the home-made code reader.

Job done, and the S70 lives to add a few more miles to the 230,000 already covered.
