Default Apple Car Play sudden disconnections

Hello,

I wonder if anybody else has this issue with AAOS and Apple Car Play.

My phone (iPhone XR) disconnects from the Apple Car Play very often (at least once per journey) and it is not recognized as being connected unless I do a restart of the onboard computer (long press on the middle button).
This is not an issue with the physical connection (cable) since replug it does not solve the problem but the restart does.
It might be my phone though, but I think I saw this issue with another iPhone as well.
Does that sound familiar for any of you? Is there a solution or something else I could try?
Obviously next step will be a visit to the Volvo dealership but I thought maybe there's a simple fix.
Thank you!

Hi, are you using a genuine Apple cable?

I had the exact same problem in my V60CC. I was using a 0.5m non Apple cable bought from Amazon (bought as a pair). I tried both cables with the same result, constant disconnections.

I bought (the admittedly more expensive genuine Apple cable) and using that has resolved the issue.

My only gripe is the Apple cable is a metre long and they don’t do a shorter one.

Thanks, I will try this. I am using a non genuine Apple cable for now.

Using a non apple cable here, with my iPhone15Pro and no disconnects on AAOS.

I've also used non apple cable with my iPhone14Pro previously, again, no disconnects.

Cool, perhaps you would be kind enough to share the brand of cable you are using, so others could benefit from your experience?

Cheapy Amazon, Chinese imports.
Nothing special that's for sure.

Luck of the draw. Some work for both power and data (needed for Carplay), some only for power, some not at all!

Just a quick update, 2 days later, with an Apple cable, everything works fine!
It's crazy that the car/phone can detect that a cable is not genuine.
Many thanks again for your prompt help as usual!

Mine’s just started doing this. No good reason why and nothing has changed. I’ll use a genuine Apple cable tomorrow but I’ve used good quality certified up to now.
